Sustainability
Our process uses a very low amount of energy to convert carbon fiber scrap into usable carbon fibers.
The energy required for the entire recycling process is less than 0.4 kWh/kg. This is less than 1% of the energy required to manufacture virgin carbon fibers, which is around 80 kWh/kg.
The energy consumption, as well as the carbon footprint, of the recycled carbon fiber is more than 99% lower compared to virgin carbon fiber: this makes the recycled carbon fiber environmentally friendly and also results in a low LCA analysis value.
The low energy consumption has a vast impact on the environment: more than 28 tons of CO2 are saved for every ton of reprocessed carbon fiber compared to the creation of virgin carbon fiber.
Thus, we avoid the equivalent amount of CO2 required to transport a person 30 times via aircraft from London to Los Angeles.
The amount of CO2 generation as well as the specific energy usage of our process is compared to other production methods below:

Thanks to our environmentally friendly process we were already able to prevent the landfill / incineration of thousands of tons of carbon fiber waste, avoiding the generation of CO2 amounts like very few other companies in Germany.
Since 2023 we operate in our new facility in Niederzissen / Rhineland-Palatinate. Our new state of the art plant is equipped with solar panels, generating a power of nearly 100 kWp which further reduces the CO2 footprint of our recycled carbon fibers.
